An independent valuation of Seachange Lodge was made by an independent registered real estate office and is available for inspection.

2.Is Seachange Lodge on freehold land?

Land in Vanuatu is leasehold land that runs for 75 years. Leases are rolled over, or for a modest fee you can renew the lease early, which would be considered at the point of hand over to the new owners.

3. How do I know there are no encumbrances on the property?

The local bank that deals with the property has stated that the current owners have met all financial requirements and approved the Sponsor a Student program. All legalities will be completed prior to the hand over of the property.

5. Are land values on the rise in Vanuatu?

1.Can our children be educated in Vanuatu?

There are both good French and English primary schools available in Port Vila. Some expat children go out to Australia or New Zealand for high school and higher education if required (just three hours by plane from Vanuatu). Students are also able to complete year 11 and 12 under long distance education from Victoria, Australia - to Australian standards.

2.How large an expat population is there in Vanuatu?

Around 3000. A mixture of Australian, New Zealand, Chinese, Maylasian and many other countries, as well as French. Cuisine in Vanuatu is one of the most exceptional in the South Pacific. The food is organic and the beef surpassed by none.

3. Do I need to speak any languages other than English?

The main languages spoken are English, French and the local Bislama. You can survive on English only, and Bislama is not a hard language to pick up. Sometimes we have guests from New Caledonia, who are predominantly French speaking. Several of the staff of Seachange Lodge speak all three languages.

Tourism is the top earning and fastest growing sector in the Vanuatu economy. There are strong moves afoot to strengthen it and carry it forward, in spite of the world financial crisis.
